Xander pressed his nose against the window and stared. At least he would have done if Batman had let him take his safety belt off. “Wow.”

“That’s the third time you’ve said that,” Batman pointed out.

The Batplane soared higher. “They look like ants down there. Wow. This is so cool.”

Batman chuckled. The noise held a hint of disdain. “It’s more than cool,” he said. “It’s state of the art.”

Contrite, Xander nodded. “I get that. One thing, though?”

“Go ahead.”

“I know I said I wanted to see the grounds, but wouldn’t it have been easier to walk?”
